I wish I could give this place even more stars for atmosphere. This coffee shop feels like how the world felt in the earliest years of my life in the early 1990s. The first time I came in, I walked up the stairs to hear them playing “Give Me One Reason” by Tracy Chapman and I knew I was in the right place. They just don’t make them like this anymore. The staff is always very friendly and any drinks or food I’ve had have been great. I always try to make a point to stop in if I’m in the area.

I discovered this coffee shop accidentally when I was visiting California back in February 2023. Their coffee (organic, roasted in Oakland) was so good that I bought 2# of whole bean coffee at that time. In the meantime I moved to California and every time I go to Santa Cruz/Capitola I get a cup of coffee at Mr Toots. I also highly recommend their raspberry topped vegan pastry. Great views from the balcony and a very nice atmosphere inside the cafe.
Discovered this gem thanks to Guess Where Trips! It's a quirky little cafe located on the second floor, above the Margaritaville restaurant. I get why locals love it though - the view from their little patio is absolutely incredible! We lucked out and got a seat on the balcony during sunset! I had a chai latte which was yummy, and all of their baked goods looked really tasty. Recommend checking this place out if you're in Capitola!
My new favorite coffee place in the Santa Cruz area! They are at the second floor above Margaritaville in the quaint village though they of Capitola. Decent prices, great service, amazing atmosphere. Sit inside on the couch or tables or outside in the small balcony. They have little seating books. I had a large half-caff oatmilk latte and a blueberry muffin which they warmed even without my asking. Delish!
